You
can listen to an audio file that describes changes to our
News page by clicking on the toolbar below. Then scroll down
the page as I explain what we have changed here and follow
along with the new features. If the file does not play (toolbar
not displayed) then you need QuickTime player. This
is available for both PC and Mac by clicking here ...

Blue
Jay's Blog - will now be supplying our News & Announcements
page via a live RSS
(Really Simple Syndication) feed that
has been established from a blog that I set up over on Blogger.Com
I
have set the feed to upload the last few announcements that are posted
to the blog. You can go directly to the blog to view older news or
you can click on this news archive
link to access that here on this site.
I have
chosen to use this method as it is much easier for me to post news
to our site from my classroom computer using this protocol. Postings
can be made directly to the BlueJay
Blog via regular email and then they are echoed back here via
RSS. You can click on any of the message titles in the RSS feed below
to access the posting on the blog or any boldfaced text in the messages
as those are direct links to web pages that are mentioned in the messages!
I hope
you enjoy this new feature of the web site. If you have any questions
about this please feel free to email me with those. Thanks for stopping
by to see what is happening and as always, thank you for helping me
in the education of your child.

Podcasting
The
blog is also audio capable. I set up the site today to accept audio
files which you can call in from any telephone/cell phone. These are
then posted to the site and echoed back here as well. This feature
may come in handy but we'll need to work on this a bit before it's
placed into use here. There is a "test" file below that
I posted via my office speakerphone. I wanted to see how it recorded
and sounded on the web. This is not podcasting
but it is a step towards that direction!
Please
Note: I am still
working on different .css
files to display the announcements below in the style/format
that I want for this page. I will be tweaking this as we go along
with this new feature ... thanks for your patience! |
