I placed
a new page on the server tonight that should prove helpful to many
of you. It contains the Bird Research Project rubric, the two files
that Mrs. Beck provided for your help in researching and paraphrasing
and a specialized search engine that I linked to for bird research.
All you have to do is type the name of your bird into this search
software and it will take you directly to a very good web site for
factual information that you can use in your paper.

access this page just click here!

The organized
board notes about Flatworms and Roundworms are available on the server

topics in Chapter 12. You should spend time tonight getting your materials
organized for this assessment. Good luck!

Roundworms (Section 3 - pages 344-349) and finish up the week with
an assessment of all topics contained in Chapter 12. All grades close
out on Friday, November 4, 2005 and report cards will be issued on
Thursday, November 10, 2005.
We will

We
recently finished an Eyewitness
Video covering seashore environments in our classes. All students
worked on a diagram in their Science Journals of a typical seashore
that covers four zones: Spray and Splash Zone, Tidal Pools, Tidal Waters
(hold-fast habitat) and the Sub-tidal Zone. The
board notes for these four zones are now available here on the server
by clicking on this link.

Quiz
#2 will be given on Wednesday, October 19th to all groups. This quiz
will cover all materials covered from Chapter 12 Section 1 (pages
330-335) along with the article about Animal Diversity that was read
and outlined in our Science Journals.
All students
have been directed to spend Monday and Tuesday homework time in preparation
for this quiz!

All Gradekeeper
software accounts have been finished and are now operational on
the web server. Students were given their access codes in class today
and directed to bring them home for safe keeping. All parents are
welcome to use this feature as well. Your child has the necessary
information for logging into their account and they should be sharing
this with you.
If you
have any questions or difficulty please let me know. As I mentioned
in class today, I nornmally upload the grade files right before the
quarterly Progress Reports (which are due out this Friday) and then
in about two weeks, and also at the end of each quarter. This should
give everyone sufficient notice as to their current standing in class.

that students spend HW time with the Study Guide found on page 31
in our book and with the practice questions in the Chapter Review

to inform parents about their curriculum and yearly plans. Individual
conferences regarding student issues will be scheduled at another

Our message
board sofware has been reinstalled to the server for this current
year but has not been fully tested yet. Most of the links on the site
for this are currently inoperable. The message board is a moderated
forum (by me) and postings do not go "live" until they are
approved by me. If the messages are of value to our classes then they
will be posted. You can preview
this software by clicking here.

Our web
site has returned! Much of what you see here is from last and previous
years. We appreciate your patience as we begin to build materials
for the current 2005-06 school year. I hope to have most of the site
current and operational by September 8th for our annual "Open
House", which is being held from 6:00 to 8:00PM. There will be
additional details about this event later.
Thanks
for your patience with the site!
